Arai Corsair-X Hayden Laguna Unisex-Adult Motorcycle Helmet
The Corsair-X Helmet from Arai has taken helmet technology and rider protection a step further by engineering a helmet that not only guards against direct impacts but is also specifically designed to minimize the forces of "glancing off" impacts. Arai has created a stronger shell and smoother shape that is more likely to redirect impact energy rather than absorb it, thereby decreasing the amount of force transferred to the body.
To increase the potential for the helmet to glance off impact energy, the VAS (Variable Axis System) side pod and pivot cover have been designed to be smaller in size and positioned lower on the shell. The helmet is constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, assembled and bonded by Arai experts. A specially-developed resin creates stronger bonds between the shell materials, resulting in a lighter weight construction.
The shell of the Corsair-X Helmet has superb tensile strength due to a variety of carefully-positioned materials and lightweight resin. The helmet is DOT Approved and meets FMVSS 218 Standards, ensuring its compliance with safety regulations. The VAS (Variable Axis System) shield and side pods are exclusive to the Arai Corsair X Helmet, featuring a variable axis (moving pivot point) that allows the shield mount position to be lower than most helmets.
The dual function lever releases both the side pod and the face shield, enabling quick and simple face shield removal. The lever also captures and holds the face shield closed securely, providing a de-mist position to slightly crack the shield open. The larger latch design allows for intuitive and seamless operation. The VAS MAX Vision shield is standard, providing better visibility in all seasons and for all types of riding, and comes standard with a clear anti-fog Pinlock insert.
The variable axis (moving pivot point) of the VAS system allows the shield to open and close even with the lower shield position, which is typically not possible with a lower shield pivot. This design feature enhances the overall functionality and user-friendliness of the Corsair-X Helmet.
